Through My Lens

About this Collection

In consideration of my limited vision, I began to use my art as a tool to train my one “good” eye more intentionally. Through the lenses of a camera, I can consciously focus and seek light and shadow to bring depth and a deeper understanding of the subject. After all, a camera image itself reduces 3-D to 2-D visuals so I also find comfort in this creative realm.

While traveling, I hug my iPhone and have discovered that I see sights through its lens most clearly. After I’ve focused and clicked, I then take the camera away as I now know which areas most stimulate my creative juices. Shown here are combined images I’ve carefully curated so that you may travel with me, see and share how I view my subjects. Each finished work is dimensional by design, some with structural influences. The concept is to encourage the viewer to join me in looking with more intent.
